PSPCL conducts mass raid to check electricity theft

Kapurthala, 25 August (Hindustan Ekta) Sushant Bhardwaj In a major drive against the electricity theft in the Kapurthala circle, a mass raid was conducted today in early morning for checking of connection in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of District Kapurthala & Kartarpur. The zero tolerance policy to curb theft of energy of Mr. A. Venu Parshad CMD PSPCL & on directions of Director/Distribution Er DPS Grewal & CE/north Er. Janinder Dania, Er Inderpal Singh Dy. CE, Kapurthala disclosed that total 22 checking teams comprising XENs and SDOs of Circle checked 1921 no of connections of various category of consumers. He said that total amount of Rs.9.73 Lakh charged, out of which 47 no cases of theft of energy and amount charged is 7.27 lakh and 36 no of cases of unauthorized load for which amount of Rs. 2.17 Lakh also charged.
