The Government of India has decided to start the process of making e-passports for all the citizens of the country and for this, the Government of India has started the process of electing the agency. This agency will provide IT infrastructure and solutions. It is believed that the process of e-passport can prove to be a major task in view of the large population of the Government of India.
* Benefits of e-passport *
After the issuance of e-passport, it will be difficult to withdraw. And in the case of international travel, the immigration process will be completed soon. Till now, only printed books such as passports containing personal information are made in India. Which is very easy to copy. Passport verification with e-passport will be 10 times faster than the current time. It is going to be equipped with a lot of great features. The passport will have quality of paper and excellent printing on it. It will also have advanced security feature. Keeping in mind the increasing cases of cyber crime, passport fraud and corruption, work on this scheme is being done at a rapid pace. Facilities like touchless can also be found in e-passport. Prior to India, such e-passports are prevalent in countries like Hong Kong and Singapore which are safe and doing their work with success. In the type of e-passport that the Government of India is making, the agency providing IT infrastructure and solutions will have to issue 10000 to 20000 e-passports every hour. Such an agency will be set up in Delhi and Chennai. The National Information Center of the Government of India is working on this with the Ministry of External Affairs. Proposals have been sought to elect an IT infrastructure and solution agency. After this, all the 36 passport offices of the Government of India will issue only e-passports. From next year, the Indian government will issue only e-passports, which will have an electronic micro processor. The government has also completed its trial. The government has also completed the trial of issuing 18000 to 20000 e-passports within an hour.
Good initiative by the government....
