Master Jagir Singh, Bilaspur became Chairman of Chhachharauli Ken Grover Cooperative Society Limited

Chandigarh, 8 August (Hindustan Ekta)
Sushant Bhardwaj
Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal’s General Body Meet was virtually organized on
7 and 8 August 2020. Two resolutions on the challenges of online education and
education for self-reliant Bharat were passed in this two-day meeting to
revolutionise and promote the present Bharatiya education. It was unanimously
agreed that various ministries, departments and officials will be contacted and
made aware of the shortcomings of the education system and that an initiative
will be taken to choose the necessary system in the current education crisis.
Emphasis should be on creating a meaningful integrated system of online
education by considering it as complementary only as Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal
believes that the conventional system of education truly is the identity of Bharat.
Modern education will be strengthened only if it imbibes the Bharatiya tradition of
education. Online education system is just an instrument and not the destination.
Complete transformation of education is essential for a self-reliant Bharat.
Tributes were paid to the departed at the commencement of the meeting.

Aniruddh Deshpande. He discussed the technology as a means and the current
status of teachers. He said that without direct communication between the teacher
& student, both will not experience fulfillment. Online education is not an
alternative to conventional education. Online education can be a tool, but not the
ultimate goal. Shri. Deshpande while addressing the gathering said that education
should not be one-sided but multi-disciplinary.
In the open discussion session, while presenting on 'The Responsibility of
Intellectual Warriors', Sushri Arundhati Kawadkar spoke about the intellectual
warrior, war, battlefield, weapons and fighting, etc. Other speakers Dr.
Unnikrishnan and Kumar Diwakar also presented on this topic. National General
Secretary Dr. Umashankar Pachauri, while addressing this session, underlined the
intellectual warrior's assessment, skill, intellectual thinking, his presentation & style of speech. He emphasized that the person on the opposition in the intellectual
battle during debate is not an enemy. Keeping this in view, deliberations have to
be made so that he becomes amenable to the idea of revival of Bharatiya
education system.
On the second day 26th July, Honourable Sah Sarkaryavah of RSS Shri.
Dattatreya Hosabale addressing the discourse session, stressed the importance of
keeping the position of Bharat as Vishwaguru at the center and deliberated on the
action plan. Two main resolutions were discussed. The first focused on the utility,
scientific validity, impact, availability and condition of online education. The
general body recognized that it is appropriate to consider online education as a
necessary option in the time of pandemic, but it cannot become permanent
education system by itself. There are many positives of online education, but the
resultant problems outnumber them. It is not yet fully developed technically.
Similarly, lack of textual content in Bharatiya contexts necessitates the use of
foreign material specially in early childhood education, which is extremely harmful.
Following three resolves were solemnised by the general body of BSM:
1. The government will be requested to limit the role of online education only
as complementary in the education system.
2. The importance of teacher both in online and conventional methods of
learning will be emphasized as the foundation of knowledge realization
through a public awareness campaign regarding the same.
3. Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal will conduct research & studies on the far-
reaching consequences of online education and digital content in Bharatiya
contexts will also be produced.
Discussion on second resolution titled ‘Education: The Foundation of Self-
Reliant Bharat' resulted in following three resolves:
1. Government will be appealed through various forums to expedite the
announcement of National Education Policy to accelerate autonomy &
flexibility in education. It will be urged to promote entrepreneurship,
research, production and promotion of indigenous trade through financial &
policy measures.
2. Special campaigns for Nation building through Swadeshi (indigenous)
economics, increasing the esteem of enterprise over employment and also
to create awareness amongst management, teachers and parents of
students from Universities, Colleges, schools and educational institutions to
encourage self-reliance in education.
3. All karyakartas of BSM shall, with immediate effect, put all efforts to use
Bharatiya (Swadeshi) products and promote Swadeshi economics in their
personal capacity. Karyakartas of BSM will also do all such research which
is necessary to fulfil the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The General Body unanimously passed both the resolutions. National
Treasurer Shri. Rajendra Pathak shared his views about essential matters of
financial discipline. The general body meeting was conducted under the guidance
of Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, President and Dr. Umashankar Pachauri, General
Secretary BSM along with Organising Secretary Shri. Mukul Kanitkar and Joint
Organising Secretary Shri. Shankarananda.
